The Orange County Young Planners Group strives to create a social and professional network among students, young professionals and the planning community by exploring different specializations and participating in regional activities related to planning.
As part of the American Planning Association, California Chapter, Orange Section, YPG serves as a resource to engage other young, ambitious urban planners toward membership and involvement in APA conferences, workshops and classes.
Founded in December 2011, our group continues to expand each year. Our first YPG happy hour mixer at the Irvine Spectrum attracted over 50 young planners in attendance! Since then, we have organized several social mixers, professional workshops, volunteer days, Angels game nights and a seasonal kickball team. Our kickball team won first place in 2013 and they were invited to compete for the national championship in Las Vegas fall 2013. YPG Board Members meet regularly to plan events and programs throughout the year.
Our goal is to create activities that inspire, motivate and connect with other members.
